Recently in AICE Media Studies me and my partner Nicole were asked to make a project about an inanimate object. We were asked to asked to make a visual story with said object, and use 15 different shots to convey the message, some that were provided for us and others that we had to come up with on our own. We decided on our object being a phone and having the narrative that the phone was controlling one of the characters life due to a topic we had been discussing in class. As the class prior we had a class seminar about the use of phones and how they have affected our social norms, we thought that we could easily put the information to use and give a visual representation of what we had learned. I think we did a exceptional job at making the story feel connected and smooth as well as making the message clear to understand as with no words there was no way to explain what we were going for. However, we definetly could've improved upon the quality and professionality of the shots we took as well as putting more focus on the phone as sometimes it would not be in the shot and would take a backseat to the story.
